Re-covering Natural Keys
Over many years of playing the natural white keys on the organ had yellowed, and begun to look old and worn. The middle octaves of the Great had been replaced in the 1960’s, but these now look very odd and out of place. With the rest of the console renewed, the final job was to re-cover the keys. These have been recovered with a bone resin.
Above the Swell, Great & Choir natural keys have been removed.
Left and right, the before and after. You will agree the new keys have finished off the work on the console nicely. ‘The icing on the cake’
