WORSHIPPERS at Rugby's parish church are getting ready to celebrate the unveiling of a much-loved £1,000,000 organ in style this weekend.
Repair work, costing £80,000, has recently been completed at the organ at St. Andrew's Church.
A three-year fundraising campaign was held to help fund repairs of the instrument - whose parts date back to 1660.
And now the refurbished organ's re-opening will be marked with a concert at the Church Street venue by American organist Carlo Curley on Saturday (May 26).
Delighted rector, the Rev. Mark Beach, said: "The sound is now incredible - it booms out across the church. I cannot imagine our church without an organ and it's fabulous it's up and running again."
Peter Spencer - who runs a nationwide repairs and restoration service from his office in Gerard Road, Cawston - was called in to undertake the work.
The concert featuring Mr. Curley - who was patron of the fundraising appeal - starts at 7.30pm.
