35 years of dust?
As far as we are aware the last work on the organ was during the 1970’s when tonal alterations were made. This would be the
Above left you can see the Great soundboard, showing Flute pipes and Piccolo pipes. There is plenty of dirt and dust about.
On the right you can see more dust on the rack boards.
This is the Swell Krumhorn. Again you can see the dust on and around the pipes. This stop is inside the Swell box, but the dust has still managed to get in.
This picture clearly show some of the Dutch pipework installed in the 1970’s. There are no nicks on the languid next to the lower lip. This means any dust in the mouth will make the pipe soft and slow to speak. These have all been cleaned out and re-voiced.
