Tuning.
The ideal temperature to tune an organ at is 17 to 19 degrees centigrade. Once tuned the temperature is noted in the tuning book, and as long as the organ is played at this temperature, it will be in tune. Reed pipes such as Trumpets, Oboes and Clarinets are more susceptible to changes in temperature, so it is vital these are tuned at the temperature they will be played at. Flue pipes such as Open Diapasons, Salicionals and Flutes can tolerate a small fluctuation in temperature.
