There is a wire for every key. That is 61 keys on each of the 4 manuals, and another 32 from the pedals. On top of this there are 3 wires for every drawstop. A signal wire to the drawstop and wires to the on and off coils for the piston operation. Each selection piston also has a wire, and this gave a grand total of 522 wires to form and shape into looms, and solder to the input pin-board on the processor system.

With this complete we moved on to output pin-board from the system. This sends all of the correct signals to the individual departments of the organ. These wires had been carefully marked, and removed from the discarded multi-contact switches. They were then reformed into new looms and soldered to the output
